This webinar will summarize for you the current state of law in Canada with respect to cannabis in the workplace, including a brief overview of federal and provincial legislation legalizing and governing recreational and medicinal cannabis use. The goal of this webinar is to identify prominent cannabis-related issues and concerns for employers with Canadian workforces, and to provide practical advice to assist employers in preventing and addressing the legal risks that may arise out of such issues and concerns.

As our speakers are labor and employment lawyers from Ontario, Alberta and Quebec, this webinar will broadly cover the legal considerations that are relevant across Canadian provinces, including both common law and civil law perspectives. The webinar will also involve a review of recent case law that covers some of the more common cannabis-related workplace scenarios, such as employee addictions, approved medical-use, disclosure obligations, and accommodation requirements.

The presentation will conclude with an overview of best practices for employers, as well as recent trends observed since the legalization of recreational cannabis in Canada on October 17, 2018.

Everyone is welcome to register, especially employers with activities or operations in Canada, general counsel, HR and safety employees and other professionals, risk managers, insurance execs and claims adjusters, executives and other officers, etc.
